CLEANING HAZARDOUS MEDICATION CART

PPE Required:
  • Chemotherapy gown
  • 2 pairs of XT Nitrile powder free non-sterile exam gloves​ (chemotherapy gloves which have been ASTM D6978 tested)
1) Wipe the top shelf of the Hazardous Medication Cart with HD Clean Wipe 1 with horizontal, overlapping strokes allowing the surface to remain wet for 30 seconds. You will use a new HD Clean Wipe 1 for each shelf of the Hazardous Medication Cart. Place used wipes in chemotherapy trash can next to the cart.
2) Wipe the top shelf of the Hazardous Medication Cart with HD Clean Wipe 2, with horizontal, overlapping strokes allowing the surface to dry thoroughly. You will need to use a new HD Clean Wipe 2 for each shelf of the Hazardous Medication Cart. Place used wipes in chemotherapy trash can next to the cart.
3) Remove outer gloves, chemotherapy gown, then inner gloves and place in chemotherapy trash can next to the cart
4) Wash hands with soap and water
