CLEANING PHARMACY COUNTER AFTER RE-PACKAGING OR COMPOUNDING HAZARDOUS MEDICATIONS


PPE Required:
  • 1 pair XT nitrile exam gloves​
  • Optional: chemotherapy gown
1) Wipe Pharmacy counter with HD Clean Wipe 1, wipe the counter with horizontal, overlapping strokes, and repeat using HD Clean Wipe 2. Repeat this procedure for each 2 ft x 4 ft area wiped.
2) Discard HD Clean Wipes and PPE in chemotherapy waste container in the IV ante room​
3) Wash hands with soap and water
