ANTINEOPLASTIC & IMMUNOSUPPRESSANT RISK


INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLOAT 2 PHARMACIST IN BIOLOGICAL SAFETY CABINET

1) Obtain medication, MILT labels, and packaging supplies (Medi-Cup blisters) and take to IV room
​
2) Don PPE:
  • Beard cover if required
  • Face mask
    • If you are going to raise the BSC front shield you must wear a fit-tested N95 mask or PAPR (Powered Air Purifying Respirator)
  • ​Head cover
  • Shoe cover followed by water-resistant shoe covers
  • 2 HD gowns or 1 non-HD gown & HD gown overtop
  • 2 pairs of Sterile Nitrile gloves
3) Wipe BSC cabinet work surface with HD Clean wipes then place Sterile chemotherapy prep mat in the hood
​
4) Use the Batch program in the Pharmacy Keeper module and follow the recipe
​
